Pokey • Daphne, AL

Meet Pokey! Pokey was adopted when he was 8 weeks old. He was the tiniest little guy. He would climb into the toy bin to play with his stuffies. He had the longest legs and would trot like a horse. Full grown he only weighed 4.5 lbs but he was 11” tall.

For how small he was, he ruled the house. He was a Velcro dog and loved to be sleeping in someone’s lap. He loved to go on car rides and his idea of going for a walk was to be carried. Pokey passed away at 14. He was a sweet dog!

Pokey’s mom was our 500 Instagram followers contest winner! I hope this painting brings back wonderful memories of sweet Pokey for her!

Pokey is a Toy Fox Terrier. According to the American Kennel Club, the Toy Fox Terrier was registered as a breed in 1936, and is “truly a toy and a terrier.” They began as barnyard ratters but are today beguiling companions with a big personality.
